I found your website when I was searching for information about Travis McGee movies. I am very impressed with your “Travis McGee & Me) article and enjoyed it very much. What amazed me though is the cover for “A Pretty Little Plot.” I recognized the painting immediately. I’ve had a print of it hanging on my wall for over 20 years–it’s roughly 19×24 inches.
I’ve often wondered about that young woman who is sitting on the porch rail. Can you tell me the name of the artist and any history of the painting.

The painting is titled “The Crimson Rambler” and it’s by Philip Leslie Hale. It’s a public domain image from Dover Pictura. Unfortunately, I don’t know any history on the painting, but you could certainly Google it.
